Business Verification Policy
How BizClear verifies businesses and what the Verified badge means.
Last updated: 8 July 2026
This policy explains how BizClear’s business verification works and what the Verified Business badge does and does not mean. It is a placeholder for review by a qualified UK solicitor before public launch.
What verification is
Verification confirms that a business has completed BizClear’s verification process. This may include review of supporting documents such as a Companies House registration, HMRC letter, VAT registration certificate, business insurance certificate, waste carrier licence, utility bill or bank letter, or other methods we introduce from time to time.
What verification is not
- It is not a government certification or legal endorsement.
- It is not a guarantee of a business’s legitimacy, quality, financial standing or future conduct.
- It is not a guarantee that any listing, asset or transaction will be satisfactory.
- It does not replace the checks you should carry out yourself before agreeing a transfer.
How a business becomes verified
- A business submits verification documents through BizClear.
- BizClear reviews the documents, which may include an automated pre-check.
- If the review is successful, the business is granted a Verified Business badge.
- Verification may expire and require renewal. BizClear may withdraw verification at any time.
Your responsibility
Even where a business is verified, you remain responsible for reviewing listings carefully, asking questions, satisfying yourself that an asset is suitable, and inspecting items where appropriate before collection.
